Benz Sanitation, Inc.

Since 1974 Benz Sanitation, Inc. has been Eastern Kern County’s Franchised Waste Hauler. In the beginning it was a two person operation. Paul and Joan Benz filled the roles of Driver, Mechanic, Secretary, Receptionist, and Accountant. They performed all of these duties while continuing to raise their family and grow their business from a single truck operation. Now an operation of over fifty vehicles and roughly one hundred sixty employees, Benz is much more complicated and diversified, wearing the scars of hard work proudly. It continues to be a family orientated company, which considers all who are a part of the company, to be part of the family. It is our goal to provide exceptional service to our customers and to be a company which understands its social responsibility to our communities.

Benz Propane Co., Inc.

In the early 1980′s, a local propane supplier sold out to a major nationwide propane company, Tehachapi was left with one option. In 1983 Benz Propane was born to give the residents of this rural community another option. Starting with zero customers and using hard work, determination, and a dedicated team of people who did not accept the concept of “can’t”, Benz Propane flourished into a company which offered unprecedented service to its customers. Using all seven days of the week to expand business and personal relationships with current and potential customers, there was never a lapse in commitment. Today Benz Propane Co., Inc. can offer what few other propane suppliers can; personal interaction, immediate response, commitment of service, and local control of one’s account. Service is key, and has been essential to the growth of our company.

Tehachapi Recycling, Inc.

Benz Recycles’ !!! Since 1989 Tehachapi Recycling, Inc. operates one of the few “Dirty” Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) in the State of California. This means that ALL trash collected from Benz refuse vehicles is dumped and processed together without the customer having to sort their garbage at home. All recyclables are picked out, separated, then bailed in preparation for shipment to various processing centers which turn them into new bottles, aluminum cans, boxes, milk jugs, etc. The residents in Benz’ service area should be proud to know that our recycling plant is capable of diverting over fifty percent of would be landfill waste into recyclable materials. It is good for the environment and it is imperative for our future. “We recycle so you don’t have to!”
